Thoughts

from Journey to Freedom by Devon Welch

/

about

After the loss of his his adoptive family, friends, partner and unborn child- Devon pushed into all his pain and started the intensive part of his healing journey- towards his own physical, emotional, mental and spiritual freedom. Finding many gems of universal truth and an energy that refreshed the pep in his step, he endeavoured from that moment forward to (where he could seed influence) battle the stats of suicide here in this world by creating this song inviting people to speak up and sharing his story

lyrics

I sit watching as these thoughts go by
Keen to believe there's more that i could see
Then what's in front of human eyes
Could it be? Am i mentally deceived?
Can i've a clearer picture of this portrait please?
This landscape is now my playground
Nobody around that's trying to make me lay down or stay down
Who ever thought we could be, misfits so magically sown together
Can't dream if you don't sleep though
I watch and scream let it be
Though tough times define my life
Yeah this music shit it changed my mind
Helping me rise when, them tired nights would arrive
I was alright, had a million spirits by my side
What if everything you thought you were seeing,
Was just result of us all being predestined inter-dimensional beings?
How do you think it would feel?
This songs dedicated to them souls, that couldn't find the courage

To speak up up up up
They couldn't speak up up up up
Now they're lost
They couldn't speak up up up up
They couldn't speak up up up up
Now they're lost

Look man,
Cause it's not time wasting when you're spending your youth
Pictures perfect when you pulling signs up there with your crew
It's now the time to realise it contributes to you
Every thing that you move, every single breath you've been through
Dyspeptic tastes of greed is eventually what will undo
This world in all it's form that is presented to you
It's that shit man supreme as an elephants trunk
Or as peaceful as Buddha chilling up there with the monks
All the times i have visualised what to do myself
But at the end of the day, when were with ourselves
Just sit back cause i know in the end you'll find
None but ourselves can free our mind
Another verse right here for the times you were scared
When your big brother hit you and your mum wasn't there
Just forgive just forget and let that past be that past
Cause if you hold that grudge life will go way too fast
We all family, at the end of the day
Come on and be a part of this brand new way
We are rearing to go, go on and push me next
might not be wrong but i'm rocking up barefoot and no vest
As you can see, im sitting here jamming for thee
Hoping you'll get up now and have a dance with me
But if you don't wanna then that's cool too
Just chill back, remember in the dark times that you

You can speak up up up up
And not get lost
Yeah, you can speak up up up up
And not get lost

Whoah,
You can speak up up up up
And not get lost
Yeah, you can speak up up up up
And not get lost

Whoah,
You can speak up up up up
And not get lost
Yeah, you can speak up up up up
And not get lost , ooohhh
