Infinity and Beyond

from Journey to Freedom by Devon Welch

/

about

An Ode to his best friend- Daniel Ginty.
This was Devon's first brush with the heart breaking and paradigm warping experience that is suicide. The most accurate song he has ever written- This song reverberates and gives solace to anybody that has lost someone who has chosen to leave this mortal coil on their own accord.

Thank you for these incredibly hard lessons that you bestowed upon us. There's almost nothing i wouldn't give to have you back here.. But i will pass on these learnings and support those who find themselves in that dark space of no return in their mind.

We love you brother.

lyrics

Things will never be the same for those who knew your name
What did you have to say, that made you go this way
Why couldn't you just wait, and call your brothers name
Didn't know you had so much pain, we were there for you always
But there's something in me says, even though you've gone away
You're headed to a good place

Now time has come, when all is said and done
You were the one, who smiled like the sun
I'm forever asking please, won't you just come back to me

And now this day has come, where we all must stand as one
It's exactly what he'd want
Why couldn't you just wait, why'd you have to escape
At this moment i can't relate
But there's something in me says
Even though you've gone away
You're headed to a good place

Now time has come, when all is said and done
You were the only one, who smiled like the sun
I'm forever asking please, won't you just come back cause we
Will miss you now you've flown
To infinity and beyond
