Crystal Not So Clear

from Journey to Freedom by Devon Welch

/

about

In the aftermath of his two friends committing suicide-
Sitting waiting to pick someone up from the train station- Devon began to think about the very fabric of life, history and it's contents. Landing in an internal conversation probing - "What if i could talk to my departed friends now? What would they have to say? What would they tell me? What would they have me do? What would they have me change?"

It also confronts the thought of life after death and the looming reality of being mortal.

lyrics

Well the unspoken seems to drive, Crystal not so clear
How are you doing? What's arrived my friend?
Wait no.. just slow.. how?
No need to keep it low down
This moments opportune, and it is ours ohh,

Since the first pedigree of changing seasons passed
Couldn't shelter the feeling, out this world gifted to man
Time can get quite appealing dangling things that we can't grasp
Or so it's told.. oooohhh

So many moons ago, the knowledge found was lost in throes
A start of all the things to come, what came was sown to be undone
The one unleashed it's own true self expressed freely as something else
Beauty for you to be see and feel

(Tell me) What it is when this race is run
(Tell me) All the things you would have undone
(Tell me) Can we find ourselves over the other side
If we can't be found my hopes are drowned, it's burning me inside
Tell me

Well the unspoken seems to drive, Crystal not so clear
How are you doing? What's arrived my friend?
Wait no.. just slow.. how?
No need to keep it low down
This moments opportune, and it is ours ohh,

Say you'll be there (Say you'll be there)
Watching me stop and stare, do you even know?
Say you'll be there, for when the time is up
I'll be coming back home, to you
